As the 2019 high school volleyball season approaches, Coach Tyler North of Coventry High School is gearing up for another exciting and competitive year. With a team full of experienced returning players and some promising new additions, North is confident that his team has the potential to achieve great things. In this article, we will take an in-depth look at the team, coaching philosophy, challenges, and expectations for the season. First and foremost, North is happy to have a deep and talented pool of athletes to work with this year. When asked about the returning players from last season, North highlighted the importance of a balanced attack and the depth of attackers on his team. This is a major strength that will undoubtedly be a key factor in the team's success. Some of the top returning players this season include Kendra Wilcox, a physical middle blocker with versatility to also play on the right side, and Kayla Kantorowski, who will be the team's libero and is expected to be one of the top liberos in the area. Their experience and leadership will be crucial in guiding the rest of the team. However, North also has his eyes on two seniors who he believes will make an immediate impact this season. Kendra Wilcox and Kayla Kantorowski are both expected to be key players for the team. Wilcox's physical abilities and Kantorowski's leadership skills make them both valuable assets to the team. In addition to these players, North also mentioned the potential of some sophomores who are fighting for spots on the varsity team. With a strong mix of experienced and new players, the Coventry High School team is well-equipped for the challenges that lie ahead. As a coach, North has a specific set of qualities that he looks for in potential team captains. These include strong leadership skills, the ability to motivate and inspire others, and a deep understanding of the team's goals and values. As of now, Kayla Kantorowski and McKenzie Osborne have been chosen as captains, with a potential third position yet to be filled. North speaks highly of their leadership qualities and believes that they will be great role models for the rest of the team. Team chemistry and camaraderie can be essential factors in a team's success, and North is aware of this. He emphasizes the importance of trust and bonding between his players.
