Fall Preview 2025 Play1
Mon, April 7, 2025 at 02:04 AM . Florida
Coming off a season of growth and success, the Lakewood Ranch High School volleyball program enters the 2025 fall season with high energy, a strong returning core, and a unified mission to push tempo, sharpen fundamentals, and build team chemistry from the ground up. Offseason Focus This offseason, our program has zoomed in on three key priorities: Tempo and serve receive – to elevate our technical consistency Team chemistry – to ensure we function as one cohesive unit Leadership development – especially important with new starters stepping into big roles Special Offseason Events We’re excited to return to the University of Florida Team Camp in July, a competitive and team-building experience that always pushes us to grow. Beyond that, we’re hosting two summer camps for elementary and junior high girls—an experience that not only grows the sport locally but also helps our varsity players develop as mentors and improve their own skills through teaching. It’s one of the most rewarding parts of our offseason. Notable Additions & Departures We graduated several key seniors last season, including our libero, two starting middles, and a starting opposite, which will result in some changes to our lineup and style of play. New faces will be stepping up into critical roles, and we’re excited to see how the dynamic shifts and grows. Players to Watch We’re returning a standout senior trio in Ava Collins, Julia Vendramini, and Kora Yanes—all three are currently dominating the beach volleyball season and bring both grit and experience indoors. In addition, a group of four underclassmen has truly stood out in the offseason. Their commitment to strength training, goal-setting, and skill development has been instrumental in helping the team meet offseason benchmarks. Weight Lifting and Fitness We’re lifting and conditioning twice a week with our school’s strength coach, with a heavy focus on explosive movements and agility. That physical development has been crucial in preparing the team for the fast-paced systems we’re working to implement. Coaching Perspective This year, our coaching staff has taken a strategic approach—reverse engineering our season, beginning with end-of-season goals and building our offseason and preseason planning backwards. We’re also thinking long-term: developing a shared vision for all three levels of the program—Freshman, JV, and Varsity—so our athletes are consistently growing toward excellence from their first year through their last. Fan Engagement & Community Impact Our community engagement efforts begin on social media—you can find us on Instagram (@lrhsvolleyball) and Facebook (Lakewood Ranch HS Volleyball) where we post updates, team highlights, and promote events like our youth camps. These camps are some of the most fulfilling parts of our year, bringing the community together and giving younger athletes the chance to learn from and cheer on our high school players. Biggest Challenges Ahead Replacing a number of key starters will naturally present some challenges with chemistry and gameplay adjustments, but this group is more than capable. With a hard-working, determined core and rising underclassmen showing great promise, we believe every obstacle can be turned into an opportunity this season. Final Word Lakewood Ranch volleyball is ready to embrace change, lead with character, and rise to the occasion. With returning leadership, young talent, and a clear sense of purpose, the 2025 season promises to be one of transformation, growth, and success.
