After another competitive season, Garnet Valley Football is hard at work this offseason, laser-focused on unity, toughness, and building a championship mindset. Head Coach Eric Van Wyk is leading a culture rooted in team chemistry and servant leadership, with fresh coaching energy and big goals for the fall. Offseason Focus The Jaguars are emphasizing team chemistry, aiming to build a brotherhood that translates into success on the field. “Our biggest focus is coming together as one unit,” said Coach Van Wyk. This culture-first mindset is helping shape the team’s identity before a single snap is taken. Players to Watch Senior Paxton Hunt is already turning heads. The middle linebacker and running back bring physicality and leadership to both sides of the ball. A state qualifier in wrestling, Hunt exemplifies the toughness and work ethic Garnet Valley is built on and is expected to be one of the top players in the area. Strength, Conditioning & Mentality While physical gains in the weight room remain a top priority, this offseason comes with a mental twist: “We want to get stronger and faster, but we also want to callous our minds and become a more mentally tough football team—on and off the field.” The offseason program is built around accountability, resilience, and grinding through adversity as one unit. Coaching Strategy There’s new energy in the staff room with the addition of Offensive Coordinator Matt Burba.
