Wed, April 9, 2025 at 04:04 AM . Georgia
As the Lanier County Bulldogs prepare for the upcoming football season, Director of Football Operations David Dean and his staff have zeroed in on one key focus: getting more vigorous. Last year, a lack of team strength led to injuries and struggles late in the season. This offseason, the Bulldogs have been dedicated to improving physicality and durability, ensuring they won’t be outmatched when the season kicks off. Offseason Training & Key Players to Watch Rather than attending outside camps, the Bulldogs have chosen to train locally, with plans for competition days against other schools to sharpen their skills. Two players who have stood out during offseason workouts are QB Drake Wolford and WR/DB Daishon Pope. Both are expected to have breakout seasons, bringing leadership and playmaking ability to the field. Challenges & Adjustments The Bulldogs have lost key seniors BJ Jones (WR/DB) and Martin Trejo (OL/DL), leaving gaps in critical positions. Depth on both the offensive and defensive lines remains a major concern, along with developing team-wide explosiveness and commitment. The coaching staff, many of whom are currently involved in other sports, will begin strategizing in May to refine their game plan for the season ahead. Community Engagement & Nutrition Lanier County takes pride in strong community support, with players frequently participating in elementary school visits and local events. Off the field, the team has made strides in nutrition, offering daily protein snacks to help players fuel their development. Season Outlook While challenges remain, the Bulldogs are making the necessary adjustments to build a stronger, more resilient team. With a renewed focus on physicality and depth, expect Lanier County to bring a more formidable, more determined squad to the field in 2025.
