After a strong season filled with growth and momentum, Meadowdale CTC enters the 2025 campaign with a renewed focus on strength, speed, and student-athlete development. Led by Head Coach Elliot Dangerfield Sr., the program is taking major strides both on and off the field to position itself for long-term success — and possibly a postseason run. Offseason Focus: Strength, Exposure & Coaching Growth The Lions have been hitting the weight room with intensity this offseason, focusing on increasing strength, explosiveness, and overall conditioning. In addition to physical development, the program is prioritizing exposure for its athletes, getting them in front of college scouts at regional camps. Coaches have also stayed active in their development, attending clinics and virtual seminars to fine-tune their strategies and approach. Special Offseason Events: Stacked Summer Schedule The Lions’ summer is packed with high-level events to build chemistry and test their skills: DPS Combine – May 6 @ Welcome Stadium Miami Valley 7v7 & Lineman Combine – May 19 @ Fairborn High University of Toledo 7v7 & Big Man Camp – June 20 Social Justice 7v7 – July 9 @ Welcome Stadium Midwest Elite Football Gridiron Showcase – July 12 @ Miamisburg HS These events serve as crucial opportunities for team bonding, exposure, and competitive development. Roster Moves: Key Losses, Major Returns The team will miss playmakers like WR/DB Daelon Philpot and two-way lineman Delimar Wadefree, but the roster remains deep and dangerous. A significant coaching addition includes Defensive Backs Coach Quinten Davis, a five-year starter at Wilmington College, who brings experience and leadership to the secondary. Players to Watch: Rising Stars Everywhere This year’s team is stacked with talent across all classes. Keep an eye on: Jordan Brown (QB) – Returning after a standout year and a scholarship offer from Toledo Dearron Daniel (LB, Freshman) – An aggressive, instinctive playmaker on defense Domonik Ramey (RB, Junior) – Rushed for 800+ yards in 8 starts; expected to be a workhorse Jaylen Thomas (LB/RB, Senior) – A physical force who’s been dominating offseason workouts Darien Peebles (CB/WR, Senior) – Speed and savvy in both phases of the game Coach Dangerfield believes the returning depth is among the best he’s had: "We’re loaded and if we keep playing Meadowdale football, we’ll be in the playoff picture." Weight Lifting & Conditioning: Getting Stronger, Smarter With many athletes competing in other sports, those available for offseason training have stayed locked in. The focus has been on functional strength and speed development, with others training under their respective coaches in track, baseball, and volleyball, helping create well-rounded athletes. Nutrition: Fueling the Lions While still developing a full nutrition program, the team ensures players receive balanced meals during camps and provides protein and pre-game meals during the season. Plans for post-game snacks are also in the works to support recovery. Coaching Preparation: Constant Learning The coaching staff is in continuous development mode — attending college clinics, studying film, and participating in online seminars. The goal: stay ahead of the curve and implement fresh ideas to elevate the program. Fan & Community Engagement: Staying Connected Meadowdale connects with its fanbase through a mix of platforms: Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) for updates and highlights SportsYou for internal communication with players and parents HUDL to stream games and build player highlight reels for college coaches Challenges Ahead: Staying Focused with a Target The biggest challenge? Maintaining focus and hunger after last year’s success. Coach Dangerfield is pushing his team to stay grounded and driven. “We had a lot of success last year… but that puts a target on our backs. We need to build on it, not rest on it.” The mindset is set. The work is being done. And Meadowdale Football is ready to show Ohio just how far they’ve come.
