As Tohopekaliga High School football enters the 2025 season, the message is clear: “Fall in love with the process.” With a strong emphasis on culture, development, and early execution, the Tigers are building more than a team—they're building a mindset for sustained success.
Offseason Focus: Culture and the Process
Coach Michael Barulich and the Tigers' staff have made it their mission to grow not just physically but mentally. The offseason has centered around two key goals:
Strengthening team culture, and
Getting players to embrace the grind of improvement.
“If you focus on the right things, getting bigger, stronger, and faster will happen naturally,” said Coach Barulich.
Camps for Exposure and Growth
Tohopekaliga is deeply invested in its players’ futures. This summer, the program plans to attend multiple college camps across Florida, giving student-athletes the opportunity to be seen, compete, and sharpen their skills.
Roster Outlook: Key Departures & New Faces
The Tigers will miss several senior contributors:
Defense: Andrew Hines (DL), Isaiah Brutus (DB), Nashawn Noel (DB) – all core defensive playmakers.
Offense: Emmanuel Theagene (WR) – a consistent receiving threat whose production must be replaced.
Still, the team returns an impressive nucleus of talent ready to lead the next chapter.
Players to Watch
Sabby Meassick (QB, Sr) – Already with 10,000+ passing yards, the 3-year starter looks to close his career with a statement season.
Cecil “Tre” Punter (WR, Sr) – The team's leading receiver last year, he's poised for a big senior campaign.
Bradley Weck (WR, Jr) – Made noise with a 100-yard performance in the playoffs; expect more breakout moments this fall.
Sean Radamacher (DE, Sr) – A key figure on defense, looking to anchor the D-line after key departures.
Offseason Training: Power at the Point of Attack
The Tigers have zeroed in on upper body explosiveness this offseason. The goal? Improve blocking, physicality, and dominance at the line of scrimmage—areas identified as crucial from last season.
Coaching Focus: Strategy, Understanding & Execution
The coaching staff isn’t just training players physically—they’re sharpening football IQ.
“We’re focusing on the why behind every drill and every detail,” said Barulich. “When players understand the purpose, they play smarter and execute better.”
Challenge Ahead: Starting Fast
One key obstacle the team aims to overcome is slow starts.
“Last season, we struggled to get into rhythm early. This year, it’s about starting fast and finishing stronger.”
By setting the tone from the first snap, Tohopekaliga hopes to translate effort into results from kickoff to final whistle.
The foundation is set. The goals are clear. As the 2025 season approaches, Tohopekaliga football is on a mission—to compete, to grow, and to strike early and often.
