Offseason Focus With a new year comes a fresh start — and for Shawnee Heights Cheer, that means a young squad full of potential. The focus this offseason has been on building a solid foundation and preparing these athletes for the season ahead. Developing confidence, refining technique, and coming together as a team are all top priorities. Camps & Team Building To kick off the year, the team will attend the UCA Cheer Camp this July. It’s an important opportunity to build skills, bond as a group, and set the tone for the season. Once August hits, the team shifts into full gear with a competitive focus starting in September and lasting through March. Roster Changes Last season’s senior class featured 12 outstanding athletes who helped shape the program. With their graduation, the spotlight now turns to the underclassmen, who are being challenged to step up, lead, and keep the momentum going. Athletes to Watch While no specific athletes are being highlighted just yet, there’s excitement around the younger team members who have embraced the challenge. Their growth, effort, and energy in the offseason are setting the stage for a promising year. Training & Development The coaching staff has revamped the summer training program with a sharper focus on strength, endurance, and injury prevention. New this year is a push for individual skill tracking, giving athletes personalized feedback and helping them see their own progress. Leadership and team-building are also woven into practices to enhance chemistry and accountability. Coaching Vision Coach Whitney and her staff have been working behind the scenes to elevate every part of the program. Their goal is to build a supportive environment where high expectations meet strong leadership. The emphasis is not just on competition, but on creating a team culture built on positivity, communication, and growth. Community Connection Shawnee Heights Cheer continues to make an impact beyond the sidelines. This offseason, the team hosted a Junior Cheer Clinic, welcoming young cheerleaders and giving current athletes a chance to lead by example. With more community service projects and local event appearances on the horizon, the team is proud to represent Shawnee Heights. Through social media, fans stay connected with updates, behind-the-scenes moments, and season countdowns. Looking Ahead One of the biggest challenges will be managing time — balancing school, cheer, and other commitments. As the team increases its difficulty in stunts and tumbling, safety and communication will be crucial. Rebuilding team chemistry with a new group takes time, but with strong leadership and a clear vision, this squad is ready for the challenge.
