Offseason Focus At Terrebonne, many of our cross-country runners are multi-sport athletes. During the offseason, they train with their in-season teams, which keeps them active and in shape. Most of our team is currently participating in Track & Field, so they'll be race-ready when we regroup in mid-May for summer workouts. Special Offseason Events We’re currently exploring options for a summer camp to enhance training and team bonding. While we haven’t finalized which one we’ll attend, it’s a priority to provide our athletes with an opportunity to grow together outside of the routine. Notable Additions & Departures No major roster or coaching staff changes have been finalized at this time, but the team is adjusting to the departure of top talent from recent seasons. Players to Watch This team prides itself on a “Run by Committee” mentality. Training as a cohesive group helps our athletes push each other and improve together. Evan Bryant and Isaac Lyons are expected to lead the team this year. We also have several developing runners who will be strong contenders for Varsity spots. Weight Lifting & Fitness One standout feature of our program is a developmental pathway for any student who wants to participate. We’ve had students start unable to complete even a 1/4 mile, and by season’s end, they’re finishing races in under 30 minutes. Cam Erhart is a perfect example—he started with us last year as a beginner and will be a Varsity runner this fall. He’s projected to break 20:00 by the first meet of the season. Nutrition While we don’t have a formal nutrition program, hydration is a key focus. With many of our athletes training year-round, I emphasize the importance of always having a large jug of water on hand. If it feels too heavy, just drink some and lighten the load! Coaching Perspective Last year, we didn't incorporate much elevation training into our summer workouts, and it showed in our early races. Being in a flat town, we’re now implementing bridge and tunnel workouts to simulate hill training and better prepare for varied terrain. Biggest Challenges Ahead Over the last two years, we've graduated two of the most accomplished runners in Terrebonne history. That opens the door for underclassmen to rise and leave their legacy. We’re excited to see who answers the call.
