Offseason Focus
This offseason, our focus has been on staying sharp through regular ball touches while also allowing athletes to rest and recover. With each season as a stepping stone, we’re laying the foundation for 2025 by prioritizing discipline on defense and helping players grow into their new roles on the court.
Special Offseason Events
Our varsity squad plans to attend at least two summer tournaments in Montana to ramp up competition and team chemistry. Additionally, we host an all-levels summer skills camp in June, spanning elementary through high school. The camp emphasizes defensive systems for our incoming freshmen and ends with a competitive play session to apply what they’ve learned.
Notable Additions & Departures
The team said goodbye to four seniors, including two major offensive contributors. The program also saw a leadership change, with Head Coach Nichole Brower stepping down. Former JV coach Danielle McGowan has stepped up into the head coach role, bringing six years of experience, including three years directly under Brower, where she helped polish the team’s defense and run intentional, focused practices.
Players to Watch
Molly Adams – A dynamic, high-IQ middle hitter who will be a dominant presence at the net.
Addy Anderson – The returning setter brings control and leadership, with an ability to strategically set up plays.
Karma Forney – Senior blocker and hitter who will be key in shutting down opposing offenses.
Emmery Kurtz & Makenna Murphy – Strong hitters who continue to develop and will be key parts of the offense.
Jaida Jones – Delivers tough serves and consistent passing, anchoring our back row defense.
These athletes have been committed to offseason work, including club volleyball, strength training, and studying the game.
Weight Lifting & Fitness
We believe in balancing rest with readiness. While the offseason allows players to recharge, we do meet a couple of days a week for gym time and skill work. We also emphasize mental wellness alongside physical training, because healthy athletes perform better.
Nutrition
There’s no formal program in place, but our coaching staff consistently reinforces that “food is fuel.” We encourage our athletes to eat healthy, stay active, and prioritize mental health and rest to support their growth as both students and competitors.
Coaching Perspective
Our coaching philosophy has shifted toward a "WE over ME" mindset, creating stronger team trust and collective success. This cultural change, spearheaded by former coach Brower, laid the groundwork for what we plan to continue. We’re also dialing in on defensive discipline and consistency as we prepare for the season ahead.
Fan Engagement & Community Impact
We’re keeping the community engaged this summer with a 4-on-4 adult volleyball tournament fundraiser, where our team will act as officials, line judges, and scorekeepers. It's a great way to connect with local supporters and build excitement for the upcoming season.
Biggest Challenges Ahead
Our toughest hurdle this season will be maintaining confidence through adversity, especially in high-stakes divisional matchups. With strong opponents on the schedule, it’s essential that our team stays resilient, positive, and united. The talent is there—we just need to keep feeding the belief that we can do hard things.
