In a sport often dominated by numbers, Coe Brown Northwood Academy’s four-person swim team proved that heart, grit, and unity can be just as powerful. Under the leadership of Coach Karyn Raymond, this small but determined squad not only competed with much larger teams but also placed 5th out of 15 schools at the New Hampshire state meet—a testament to their resilience and drive. Star Power and Total Team Effort Leading the way was sophomore Tucker Raymond, who delivered a remarkable season by winning two state titles and demonstrating elite-level consistency. His leadership in and out of the water set the tone for the team’s success, inspiring teammates to push their limits at every practice and meet. Each swimmer played a critical role. Junior Shea Raymond naturally stepped into a captain-like role, leading with encouragement, positivity, and unwavering support for his teammates. The team also benefited from the dynamic presence of Clemens Remi, an exchange student from Germany, whose participation was essential for forming a relay team. His infectious energy and work ethic left a lasting mark on the team culture. Another rising contributor was Brayden Behr, whose breakthrough moment came when he qualified for states in the 100 fly, sending the team into a full-deck celebration. Moments That Defined the Season The season's highlight wasn’t just in the results—it was in the bond. The emotional moment when Brayden secured his state cut was more than a qualification; it was a unifying, defining point that reflected the supportive atmosphere this group had cultivated all year. Despite being small in numbers, the team embraced every challenge, showing composure in pressure moments and tremendous sportsmanship when outcomes didn’t go their way. “They leaned on one another for support,” said Coach Raymond. “They showed incredible resilience and stayed positive no matter what.” Looking Ahead The future is bright for Coe Brown swimming. While the team will say goodbye to Clemens as he returns to Germany, the core trio of Tucker, Shea, and Brayden will return, bringing with them valuable experience and strong leadership. With their commitment and drive, the foundation is already in place for another impactful season next year. Offseason Focus Coach Raymond plans to continue building on this season’s success by focusing on technique refinement, endurance, and recruiting new talent to strengthen the program’s depth and ensure relays and team scoring continue to improve.
