Cascade Christian Sideline Cheer Wraps Up a Memorable 2025 Season Full of Spirit, Strength, and Sisterhood
At Cascade Christian High School, the sidelines came alive in the 2024–2025 winter season thanks to an incredible group of dedicated, spirited, and faith-driven student-athletes. Under the leadership of Coach Allison Ulrich, the Cascade Christian Sideline Cheer Team played a vital role in bringing energy, positivity, and unity to every game and event, cheering passionately through football season, into basketball, and all the way to the state playoffs.
While cheerleading often happens just outside the spotlight, this year’s squad left no doubt about its impact on the atmosphere, athletic culture, and overall spirit of the Cascade community.
Leadership That Shone from the Front
Every great team needs a leader who not only performs but inspires—and this season, that leader was Allie Darland, the team captain.
“Allie has been an incredible leader in many ways,” said Coach Ulrich. “She’s talented, bold, brave, and above all, genuinely kind to all. She set a positive tone for our team and was an excellent example of a well-rounded cheerleader—but most importantly, she shined her light for Jesus.”
Allie’s influence extended far beyond her jumps, chants, and stunts. Her character and consistency anchored the team, and her example reminded everyone that cheerleading is as much about heart and humility as it is about athleticism.
Alongside Allie, another key contributor emerged in Raylynn Erickson, a new but essential member of the team. As a backup in many of the squad’s most challenging stunts, Raylynn’s strength and determination played a crucial role in keeping routines clean and safe.
“She was often the one who ‘made it stick’ no matter what,” Ulrich explained. “Raylynn is strong, determined, and focused—and she made a huge difference to the team.”
A Season of Spirit and Milestones
From the first summer practices in August to the final basketball playoff game in March, the 2024–2025 season was a marathon of commitment and consistency. Yet through every early morning practice, late-night bus ride, and high-energy game, the cheerleaders stayed motivated and mission-minded.
“The season was a big success,” said Ulrich. “Our team became more cohesive as the season progressed, and the cheerleaders grew more comfortable, effectively leading the crowd and keeping up the energy.”
Cheerleading at Cascade is about more than sideline routines—it’s about supporting the whole school community. That spirit was on full display during the biggest highlight of the season: traveling to Coos Bay for the state basketball playoffs, where both the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams competed.
“What a fun way to end the season and make some memories together!” Ulrich said.
Teamwork That Transcended the Sidelines
One of the defining moments of the season wasn’t a cheer stunt or chant—it was the mutual support between the cheerleaders and the girls' basketball team.
“The girls' basketball team was incredible to the cheerleaders,” said Ulrich. “They cheered with us enthusiastically, both when they were in the stands supporting the boys and from their own bench during their games. They showed that having cheerleaders really added a welcome boost in school spirit and support for our athletes.”
This mutual respect and encouragement underscored the team-first culture at Cascade Christian, where students support each other not just on the field or court but across all activities.
Growth, Grit, and Godliness
While Coach Ulrich didn’t highlight every athlete by name, it’s clear the entire team grew throughout the year. Whether it was mastering more complex stunts, learning to lead louder and stronger chants, or simply supporting each other through long weeks and packed schedules, the Cascade cheerleaders evolved into a more unified, confident squad by the time postseason arrived.
Though specific challenges like injuries or pressure-packed moments weren’t elaborated on, the team's resilience was evident in how they carried their energy from start to finish and adapted to a long and demanding season.
Their work ethic and enthusiasm were matched by the senior class’s impact—a group that brought leadership, energy, and a contagious joy to every event. From planning bonding moments to being examples of consistency, the seniors have helped set a standard for future cheerleaders to follow.
Faith as the Foundation
A unique and cherished part of Cascade Christian's cheer program is its integration of faith into everything the team does. For Coach Ulrich, this is not just a sports program—it’s a ministry of encouragement and light.
Team leaders like Allie Darland embodied this mission by lifting others up, keeping their attitudes grounded in grace, and always remembering who they represent—both their school and their Savior.
This spiritual foundation is what made this team not only effective cheerleaders but difference-makers in their school community.
Looking Forward: Excitement for the Future
With strong returning cheerleaders and a clear vision for continued growth, Coach Ulrich is excited about what’s ahead.
While the recap didn’t specifically outline offseason goals or next year’s plans, the foundation laid by this year’s squad is sure to inspire a new generation of Cascade cheerleaders. The returning members have had the opportunity to learn from some of the best and are well-positioned to step into leadership roles, continue developing their skills, and help elevate school spirit even further.
Final Thoughts: A Season to Celebrate
As the 2024–2025 Cascade Christian Sideline Cheer season comes to a close, one thing is clear: this team was far more than just a group of athletes on the sidelines. They were leaders, encouragers, and examples of integrity, spirit, and service.
From the very first game of football season to the final moments of March Madness, they stayed committed to their craft, connected to their community, and grounded in their faith.
Coach Ulrich sums it up best through her reflections on the team’s highlights and the strength of their relationships. This wasn’t just a successful season—it was a season of lasting impact, where each chant and cheer was backed by heart, purpose, and passion.
Here’s to a year of memories made, lessons learned, and legacies left—and to an even brighter season ahead in 2025–2026.
