El Camino Swim Team 2024 Season Preview (CA)

As the summer heat begins to fade and the smell of chlorine fills the air, it's time to start gearing up for another exciting swim season at El Camino Swim Team. To give us a preview of what we can expect from the team this year, we sat down with Coach Scott Wagner to get the inside scoop. Our conversation starts with the overall team goals for the season. Coach Wagner emphasizes the importance of enjoying themselves while maintaining a strong work ethic and competitive determination. These values will be the driving force behind the girls team's goal to repeat as league champions and the boys team's goal to make top 2 in the league. When asked about the top swimmers on each team, Coach Wagner highlights Ava Wagner as the top sprinter for the girls team, praising her competitiveness and determination. He also mentions Ayla Boose as a great all-around swimmer who elevates the performance of those around her. On the boys team, Wesley Sczupak is noted as the top breaststroke swimmer and sprinter, while Isaiah Nordhues is praised as the best all-arounder. However, Coach Wagner remains confident that this will not be an obstacle for his dedicated team. The El Camino Swim Team will face tough competition this year, with meets against strong teams such as Torrey Pines, Classical Academy, and Fallbrook. However, one of their biggest competitions will undoubtedly be against their cross-town rivals, Oceanside High School.
