We have study hall and tutoring available at all times for the girls so they can make sure they continue to succeed in the classroom and on the court.

At El Diamante High School's Girls Basketball team, Coach Jessica Cervantes strives to support her players in the balancing of both academics and sports. Stressing that players are students first and athletes second, she performs regular grade checks and works with their teachers to make sure the girls are achieving in the classroom. With tutor and study hall available, any needed extra attention can be found. Cervantes knows how important it is to perform in the classroom, and she sets a clear expectation for the team: those with a D in a class will not be able to practice or play until the grades are at a C or higher. Through determination and discipline, Coach Cervantes’s girls are able to excel both on and off the court.
