Communication is the back bone to success for the Mira Costa Girls Basketball team. As Coach Jeff Herdman stated, their motto is a quiet gym is a losing gym, and they make it their goal to always be communicative while on the court. This focus that Coach Herdman places on collaboration and vocalization encourages his players to work together as a team in order to succeed. He believes that connecting with one another is more important than ever, especially during these unprecedented times to stay connected with one another. Slogans such as “keep pushing” motivate and reassure each other that as a team they will see success. Communication is an essential part of the team’s success and that’s why it is a warning that Coach Herdman never takes for granted.
