We plan on focusing on developing basketball literacy and making sure our players understand the game. We want to ensure that the team is using great court awareness and if everyone’s IQ is performing at its highest potential, aggressiveness will become an advantage rather than a disadvantage. 

The Monterey Trail High School Girls Basketball team has some standout elements like their team chemistry and unity on the court. However, they need to pay close attention to developing their basketball literacy and court awareness. Coach David Whitsett plans on helping the team sharpen these skills to use the aggressiveness as an advantage rather than a disadvantage. With focused practice on these skills, the team will be able to take their strengths and turn the weaknesses into positives performances on the court.
