At Homestead High School Wrestling, Coach Monica Villa has worked hard to introduce a training and conditioning program that will improve the physical fitness and mental endurance of the wrestlers. A specific focus is placed on the importance of discipline and nutrition to tackle the physical aspects of wrestling. Also, there is a concentrated effort to provide more specific tactics, strategies and drills designed to address the intricacies of the technique. At the same time, stress management and lifestyle habits are being addressed to maximize performance and growth. The combination of these factors aims to facilitate conscious decision making and better decision accuracy for each individual athlete. The overall goal is to improve the team’s performance and ensure they reach their peak potential. Coach Monica Villa believes this improved training and conditioning program will produce athletes that are mentally prepared and physically fit to tackle the toughest of opponents.
