Heading into the upcoming basketball season, Coach Patrick Bray is feeling confident and optimistic about the team at Amherst Steele High School. With a strong core of returning players, as well as some promising new additions, Coach Bray believes this year's team has what it takes to win the conference and make a deep run in the tournament. In this exclusive interview, he shares his insights on the team's top players, strategies, and goals for the season. Coach Bray highlighted several key players who will be returning to the team this season. These players have proven themselves on the court and will play a crucial role in the team's success. One of these players is Eli Solak, a 6'3 forward with a versatile skill set. "What makes Eli special is his ability to shoot from outside, but also take advantage of smaller defenders by posting up," Coach Bray explains. Solak's size, combined with his shooting and post-up abilities, make him a valuable asset to the team. Another standout player is Tristyn Young, hailed by Coach Bray as one of the most athletic players on the team. His speed and agility make it difficult to stop when driving to the basket. David Dudziak, a junior two-guard, is also a returning starter who had an impressive summer on the court. His left-handed playing style adds an element of surprise for opposing teams. Stanley Robinson, a junior point guard, is another top returning player, known for his strong shooting from a distance. Finally, Coach Bray has high expectations for senior Ashton Draga, who had to sit out his sophomore year due to a torn ACL in football. After a strong comeback last year, Draga is expected to bring even more to the team this season. Coach Bray also identified several new players who he believes will have an immediate impact on the team. One of these is 6'3 forward Eli Solak. His versatility on both offense and defense will make him a valuable contributor to the team. Tristyn Young's athleticism and David Dudziak's shooting and ball-handling skills are also expected to make a big impact. Additionally, Mason Lymer and Kane Taliano, both sophomores, are two players to watch as they continue to develop and earn more minutes on the court. Coach Bray is excited about what these new players bring to the team and believes they will add depth and skill to the roster.
