The Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush Girls Volleyball team is gearing up for an exciting Fall 2025 season. After a strong campaign last year, the team faces a transition period with the loss of five seniors, including three starters and two team captains. However, with a dedicated returning core and emerging talent, the team looks poised to take on the challenge. Offseason Focus & Development This offseason, the team has placed a strong emphasis on improving its offensive game, particularly in hitting. With focused training on shot placement, power, and technique, the players have been working hard to sharpen their attacking skills. Key Players to Watch Leading the charge will be returning standouts Nadiya Salikhova and Rayne Meller, both of whom have been starters since their freshman year. Their experience and leadership will be critical in guiding the team through this transition. Another key name to watch is Londyn McKant, a third-year player who has shown significant improvement and is expected to play a major role as both a blocker and attacker. Biggest Challenges Ahead Replacing the leadership and on-court presence of the graduating seniors will be no easy task. The team will need younger players to step up, embrace new roles, and contribute consistently. The coaching staff is focused on fostering team chemistry and ensuring that the squad is well-prepared for the competition ahead. What to Expect With a renewed focus on development, strong returning players, and an opportunity for new faces to emerge, the Rush volleyball team is set for an intriguing season. While there may be growing pains, the team’s commitment to improvement and resilience will make them a team to watch in Fall 2025. Stay tuned for an exciting season ahead!
