The 2024–25 girls wrestling season at Bartlett High School was one of tremendous growth, relentless grit, and promising potential. With standout performances, rising talent, and a unified team culture, this year’s squad made major strides and set the tone for an even stronger future. Key Contributors Shine Bright Two athletes who truly led the charge this season were PJ McKendry and Ayanna Omollo, both of whom earned places at the state tournament. Their work ethic, discipline, and leadership not only elevated their performance but also inspired the team to push harder throughout the year. Competitive Fire and National-Level Fights This season saw Bartlett High go toe-to-toe with nationally ranked teams, proving we belong on the big stage. A highlight was taking second place at a tournament in Illinois, showing just how close we are to breaking through to that next level. New Faces, Big Impact A defining aspect of the season was the incredible development of our new wrestlers. They caught up quickly to the competition, showcasing rapid improvement and resilience that helped define our identity this year. Ella Berg, Lauren Arrington, Emily Upshaw, and TK Cannon all grew significantly throughout the season, stepping into bigger roles and making key contributions on and off the mat. Overcoming Adversity The team’s response to adversity was nothing short of inspiring. Whether it was injuries or tough losses, these girls never folded. They doubled down—practices grew more intense, drills sharper, and their mental edge stronger with each week. A Senior Class to Remember This year’s senior leadership was anchored by Ayanna Omollo, who brought unmatched energy, accountability, and motivation. “She’s the best captain I’ve ever coached,” said Coach Galvan, underscoring her impact on the program. Looking Ahead With many wrestlers committed to year-round training and a strong class of 8th graders entering the fold, the future looks incredibly bright. The offseason focus will be on building mental toughness and physical strength, laying the groundwork for what could be a breakout season. Stay Updated Stats and match results can be found on TrackWrestling, where the team’s journey is fully documented. As we close the book on an exciting season, one thing is clear—Bartlett Girls Wrestling is just getting started.
