The 2025 volleyball season marks a fresh chapter for Buffalo Grove High School, as Tara Braceros steps in as the new head girls' volleyball coach. With a strong coaching background and a passion for player development, Braceros is eager to build on the program’s legacy and lead the Bison to new heights. From Elk Grove to Buffalo Grove: A Coach Comes Home (Sort Of) After five successful seasons at her alma mater, Elk Grove High School, Coach Braceros brings her energy, experience, and high expectations to Buffalo Grove. “I’m honored to lead this program and excited to work with a talented group of young women,” Braceros says. “The foundation is strong here, and I’m ready to push us even further.” Players to Watch: Height, Power, and Senior Leadership Buffalo Grove returns a trio of formidable seniors, who are expected to anchor the team’s efforts on the court: Tetiana Kutsyk (Sr, OH, 5'10") – A powerful outside hitter with strong court awareness and the ability to lead in clutch moments. Amelia Palubski (Sr, OH, 5'11") – Brings consistent offense and solid defensive skills to the lineup. Cami Damm (Sr, MH, 6'0") – A towering middle hitter who will be key at the net for both blocks and quick kills. All three athletes have shown tremendous growth this offseason, setting the tone for the rest of the team and embodying the kind of leadership Braceros wants to build around. What’s Next: Building on a Winning Culture Coach Braceros has one goal in mind: sustainable success. She aims to combine a competitive mindset with a focus on fundamentals, team chemistry, and resilience—both on and off the court. “This team has potential. We’re going to work hard, stay connected, and compete with confidence,” she says. With a new coach at the helm and senior talent ready to shine, Buffalo Grove volleyball is entering the 2025 season with renewed energy—and they’re ready to make noise in Illinois.
