At Calvin Christian School, Coach Eric Miedema is preparing for another exciting basketball season. With a mix of new and returning players, he is confident that his team will be able to make an impact on the court. We had the opportunity to speak with Coach Miedema about his team and get a preview of what to expect from Calvin Christian School this year.
When asked about new players who will make an immediate impact on the team, Coach Miedema is excited about three players in particular. "We have a lot of talented players joining us this year, but there are three players who I believe will make an immediate impact on the team," he shared.
The first player is Sawyer Goggin, a gifted scorer who can light up the scoreboard. "Sawyer has a natural talent for putting the ball in the basket, and we are looking forward to seeing his offensive prowess on the court this season," Coach Miedema said. The second player Coach Miedema mentioned is Caleb Lapka, a long guard who led the team in scoring as a sophomore.
"Caleb has shown tremendous improvement over the past year and we are expecting big things from him this season," Coach Miedema said. Lapka's size and scoring ability make him a versatile player who can impact the game in multiple ways. Finally, Coach Miedema spoke highly of Garret Becker, a hard worker who he believes will be one of the most improved players in the league.
"Garret has been putting in a lot of work during the offseason and we are already seeing the results on the court," Coach Miedema shared. "He has a great work ethic and we are looking forward to seeing him contribute to the team's success."
With these new players joining the team, Coach Miedema is confident that they will bring a fresh energy and dynamic to the team this season. "We are excited to see how our returning players will blend with the new additions and create a strong team on the court," he said. When it comes to Calvin Christian School's schedule for the season, Coach Miedema admits that it may be a bit challenging. "We have a tough schedule ahead of us this year," he said. "Many of our players are involved in fall sports, so we haven't had as much time to practice before the season starts.
