Central Florida Christian Academy Basketball Season Preview

In his inaugural season at the helm of Central Florida Christian Academy, Head Coach Albert Settles guided the Eagles through a transformative year filled with signature victories, major milestones, and promising player development. Finishing with a strong 21-9 record, CFCA earned a District Championship and came just one game shy of a coveted spot in the FHSAA State Final Four. Key Contributors: Leading the charge was Junior guard Julian Declou, who earned District Player of the Year and 1A All-State honors after leading the team in scoring, rebounds, and assists. He was the undeniable heartbeat of the Eagles on both ends of the floor. Complementing him was Junior guard Alex Dipaolo, named First Team All-District and First Team All-State. His consistent two-way play, steady scoring, and rebounding were pivotal throughout the season. Defining Moments: The team’s District Championship was a cornerstone achievement, but wins over top-tier programs such as Windermere Prep, Oviedo, and Victory Christian further showcased CFCA’s ability to compete against elite opposition. Stepping Up: As the season progressed, several players emerged into larger roles. Sean Storr, Semaj Washington, and Josh Hernandez added depth and versatility, becoming critical pieces in the team’s overall success. When Dipaolo suffered an injury in the playoffs, Sean Storr delivered a standout 31-point performance against powerhouse Orlando Christian Prep, reflecting the grit and resolve within the squad. Senior Leadership: Though CFCA will say goodbye to its senior class, Coach Settles praised their contributions, saying they set “the tone for the program.” Their leadership and energy created a lasting standard for the younger players to uphold.
