Chanhassen High School – Girls' Swim and Dive 2025 Offseason Report Offseason Focus While Coach Stellmaker did not mention a singular offseason training goal, the overarching focus remains building upon last year’s momentum—enhancing team culture, strengthening leadership, and developing athletes both physically and mentally for the competitive season ahead. Special Offseason Events Rather than camps or tournaments, the emphasis this offseason is on team bonding. Coach Stellmaker is working closely with team captains and seniors to organize fun, culture-building activities as they head into the season. These experiences aim to lay a strong foundation of trust and unity among athletes.  Notable Additions & Departures One of the biggest wins this offseason isn’t a new athlete—it’s the return of the same coaching staff for a second consecutive year. After five years of coaching turnover, Coach Stellmaker and her team provide the first consistent leadership this program has had in half a decade. The continuity is expected to boost both training and team culture. Players to Watch Abrie Agazzi Glaze (Rising Junior): A standout who qualified individually for the state tournament last year and is expected to have another strong season. Olivia Patrick (Rising Freshman): Played a key role in getting both the 200 and 400 freestyle relays to state and is one to watch as she grows into her high school career. Senior Class: Coach Stellmaker is especially excited about this year’s senior group, describing them as hard-working leaders who showed tremendous progress at their championship meet last season.  Weight Lifting and Fitness Last year, Coach Stellmaker introduced twice-weekly weight training, focusing on strength, flexibility, and injury prevention. Injured athletes were not left behind—custom recovery programs combining cord work, dryland training, and physical therapy helped them stay in shape while healing. This thoughtful and individualized approach will continue this season. Nutrition The message is simple and strong: “EAT!” With the high caloric demands of swimming, Coach Stellmaker emphasizes fueling the body properly, especially with carbohydrates, calling them a swimmer’s best friend. Coaching Perspective The coaching staff has spent the offseason reflecting deeply on how to further develop team culture and confidence. This year, they’re introducing a new leadership model and taking a more proactive approach to building athlete confidence—both in and out of the water. Fan Engagement & Community Impact The team recently held a BINGO night fundraiser, connecting with the community in a fun and engaging way. Events like this not only help raise funds, but also build visibility and local support for the program.  Biggest Challenges Ahead The biggest hurdle? Replacing a strong group of graduated seniors and resetting the team culture after a tough end to last season. Coach Stellmaker is energized by the challenge, eager to see which athletes step into leadership roles and help redefine the team’s identity moving forward.
