Clarksville, TN — After seven straight seasons reaching the sectional round, Clarksville High School Girls Volleyball is entering the 2025 season hungry for more. Head Coach Glen Fox and his staff are laser-focused on pushing the team past its playoff plateau and into the state tournament — a goal that’s been within reach but just out of grasp. This offseason, the Lady Wildcats are honing in on three key values: control, speed, and relentlessness. “Getting faster in our passing and being able to dictate tempo is our main goal,” says Coach Fox. The staff has been emphasizing speed in all phases, particularly in transition play and tempo-setting. Loaded Summer Schedule Builds Chemistry The team is not just training hard at home — they’re also competing and bonding away from Clarksville. Highlights of their summer schedule include: Munciana Camp in Knoxville, TN (July 17–18) Vanderbilt Team Camp (July 10–11) Rib City Tournament in Cape Girardeau, Missouri (July 30–31) These events are designed not only to improve skills but also to strengthen team cohesion heading into a high-stakes fall. Key Players to Watch A trio of standout returners will be the backbone of this year's squad: Keira Garinger – A senior outside hitter and multi-year All-District and All-Region Player of the Year, Garinger is a proven leader on and off the court. She’s currently competing with Rhythm Volleyball Academy, sharpening her already elite game. Avery Hawkins – The rising junior middle blocker is coming off a strong sophomore campaign where she earned All-District honors. Her quickness and ability to score from multiple angles will be vital. She’s training with the Clarksville Volleyball Club in the offseason. Reagan Steinsultz – After locking down the libero position as a junior, Steinsultz brings top-tier court awareness and touch to the back row. Her passing and leadership will be leaned on heavily. Coaching Philosophy and Goals Coach Fox and his staff are fine-tuning both offensive and defensive systems this offseason, implementing faster-paced plays and sharpening strategic positioning to optimize each player's strengths. “We’re always looking for ways to evolve,” says Fox. “Our focus is putting players in the best spot to succeed.” Overcoming the Final Hurdle While the team has consistently found success at the district and regional levels, advancing past sectional opponents has been a persistent challenge. “They’re always very good teams,” Fox says. “But we’re making progress every year.” The goals remain clear: Win District. Win Region. Make State. With relentless energy, growing chemistry, and a core group of talented athletes, Clarksville is determined to turn its postseason frustrations into a breakthrough moment in 2025.
