As the head coach of the Colorado High School track team, Hann Ollison is excited about the potential for his team this upcoming season. With a strong group of returning players and a few promising newcomers, Ollison is confident that his team has what it takes to achieve their goals. In this preview article, we will take a closer look at the team and what we can expect from them this year. The team at Colorado High School is led by a group of talented returning players, including some top performers from last season. One standout is Ace Mejia, a senior who specializes in the 400m dash. Mejia had a successful season last year, running a personal best time of 50.2 seconds and qualifying for the state meet. Ollison remarks that Mejia's incredible work ethic and determination make him a strong leader on the track and a role model for his teammates. Another key returning player is Jayden Sullivan, a junior who specializes in the 800m run. Sullivan had a breakout season last year, consistently improving his times and placing in multiple meets. Ollison notes that Sullivan's positive attitude and natural talent make him a valuable asset to the team. But it's not just the returning players who are expected to make an impact this year. Ollison is excited about the potential of a few new additions to the team. One of these players is senior Presley Haag, who Ollison believes will make an immediate impact in long distance events. Haag is a dedicated runner who has been working hard in the off-season, and Ollison believes this will show in her performances on the track. Fellow senior Merick Alvarez is also expected to make an impact in the sprints and hurdles events. Ollison describes her as a natural athlete with raw speed and agility. Additionally, junior Addison Rivera is expected to contribute in the throws events. Ollison notes that Rivera has been working hard to improve her technique and strength in the off-season, and he believes she will surprise everyone with her performances this year. On the boys' side, Ollison is looking to upperclassmen Jeremaih Green, Adolfo Duenez, and Andrew Bradberry to step up and make an impact on the team. These athletes gained valuable experience last season, competing in both the regional and state meets.
