Mon, April 14, 2025 at 03:04 AM . Texas
With a laser focus on physical development and a promising underclassman group rising through the ranks, Covenant Classical School Football is charging into the 2025 offseason with confidence and momentum. Head Coach Jeremy Martin is leading the charge as the Cavaliers look to build on past success and take another step forward. Offseason Priorities: Strength & Speed Coach Martin and his staff have made strength and speed development the top priority this offseason. From weight training to agility drills, the Cavaliers are pushing their physical limits with one goal in mind: to be faster, tougher, and more dominant on game day. TAPPS 7-on-7 Tournament on the Horizon To enhance competition and team chemistry, Covenant will participate in the TAPPS 7-on-7 Tournament on June 20–21. This will offer a valuable opportunity for young players to gain reps, showcase growth, and continue developing the passing game in a fast-paced environment. Roster Outlook: Key Loss and Young Depth The graduation of Luke Evans (Sr) leaves a big hole, but Coach Martin remains optimistic. “Luke was a big-time contributor, and we’ll miss his presence. But we’ve got a strong rising sophomore class that’s bringing depth and hunger to compete.” This wave of underclassmen is expected to make a major impact in 2025, offering versatility and added competition at every position. Players to Watch The Cavaliers will lean on a mix of experienced seniors and breakout underclassmen this fall: Howard Wade (Sr) – A two-way threat at WR and DB, Wade brings leadership and playmaking ability. Noah Keyes (So) – A young but poised quarterback with a strong arm and high football IQ. Malachi Brown (Sr) – A tough, athletic RB/DE who makes plays on both sides of the ball. These three athletes have been standouts in offseason workouts and are expected to anchor the team’s performance in the fall. What’s Next While Coach Martin and his staff continue fine-tuning strategies and preparing for the season ahead, the overarching focus remains on growth. The team is young, eager, and committed to putting in the work now that will pay dividends when the lights come on. Stay tuned—Covenant Classical Football is a team to watch this fall. With rising stars, veteran leaders, and a renewed emphasis on strength and speed, the Cavaliers are on a mission to make 2025 their most competitive season yet.
