The 2024-2025 season marked a new chapter for Diamond Bar Girls' Basketball, as Head Coach Camille Buckley took the reins and guided the program through a period of growth and transition. Jalyn Winston led the team in both points and rebounds, while also embracing the toughest defensive assignments night in and night out.
Erika Liang, the team’s starting point guard and one of its captains, paced the team in assists, steals, and even led in shot-blocking, showing her versatility and leadership.
Cali Azcuenaga emerged as the team’s primary perimeter threat, leading in made three-pointers and finishing as the second-leading scorer.
Season Overview
Reflecting on the season, Coach Buckley described it as a positive first year filled with growth and adjustment. With a new coach, new systems, and new expectations, the team faced its share of challenges but ultimately showed great improvement. Nataly stepped up as a floor leader and earned a captain role, consistently providing encouragement and playing major minutes throughout the year.
Kaitlyn, a freshman, broke into the starting lineup and showed immense promise, handling unexpected responsibilities like running the point guard position. Her work ethic and willingness to learn suggest a very bright future.
