2025 Fall Football Season Preview: First Coast High School  Offseason Focus This offseason, First Coast Football has emphasized building camaraderie and confidence within a young squad. Following the departure of a standout senior class, the focus has been on helping the new group believe in themselves and their ability to uphold the program’s proud tradition. That belief started in the weight room, where physical growth and mental resilience were forged together.  Special Offseason Events The Bucs have a busy and competitive offseason lined up. The team will participate in the Jacksonville Jaguars 7v7/Big Man Tournament on July 10, a key event for development and exposure. Additionally, they’ll attend multiple mega camps, including those hosted by Mercer and Kennesaw State. Other camps on the radar include Alabama State, St. Thomas, Florida State, South Florida, and the HBCU Mega Camp—all great opportunities for skill development and college recruitment visibility. Notable Additions & Departures A major transition is underway at First Coast: Jarvis Parker, a 16-year assistant and proud program alumnus, steps in as Head Coach, taking the reins from Hall of Fame Coach Marty Lee, who led the program for 28 impactful years. Coach Parker inherits a legacy of excellence and is determined to guide the program into a promising new chapter. Players to Watch Several standout players have emerged as leaders for the Bucs: Zach Sandell (Sr., LB) – A force on defense with leadership and physicality. Hans Price (Jr., QB) – A developing field general with athleticism and poise. Marcus Small (Jr., OT) – A dominant presence on the line with impressive offseason gains. These three have impressed through their dedication to getting faster, stronger, and more coordinated, and are expected to play pivotal roles this season and beyond.  Weight Lifting and Fitness Much of the team’s identity is being forged in the weight room. Offseason training has focused on intensity, consistency, and accountability. While specific training methods weren’t detailed, it’s clear that building strength—physically and as a unit—has been the foundation of the offseason.  Coaching Perspective Coach Parker and his staff are placing a strong emphasis on maximizing individual potential—both on and off the field. The approach is focused, detailed, and rooted in patience. Coaches are pushing athletes to create value in every space they occupy, embracing both discipline and teaching with purpose. It’s a mindset shift aimed at long-term growth and accountability.  Biggest Challenges Ahead The central challenge for this year’s First Coast squad is writing their own story. With a new coach and a young roster, stepping out of the shadows of past teams and creating a fresh identity will be key. But confidence is growing in "The Shipyard," and as Coach Parker puts it, “this team will get better every week.” There’s real excitement about what’s being built.
