The 2024–25 season was a true test of grit and growth for Gregori High School Girls Basketball, with the team showing heart, resilience, and major strides toward a promising future. Key Contributors Junior Alanah Lopez dominated the court, earning the title of CCAL MVP. Junior Veronica Whitten and Junior Audrey Pacheco both secured First Team CCAL honors, cementing their spots as elite players. Freshman Gia Brown received Honorable Mention CCAL, while Freshman Makayla Tran stepped up to varsity-level competition, showing tremendous potential. Season Overview Coach Shull designed a tough preseason to sharpen the team for league and playoff play. Although early injuries and illnesses led to some missed opportunities, the experience toughened the team and prepared them for high-stakes games. Player Growth and Development Freshmen Gia Brown and Makayla Tran rose to the varsity challenge, making key contributions throughout the season. Senior Nevaeh Campbell provided crucial help on the boards, while Audrey Pacheco surprised even the coaching staff by stepping into a strong leadership role, helping to guide the team both on and off the court. Handling Adversity Despite setbacks with injuries and tough losses, the team's positivity never wavered. They stayed united, lifted each other up, and fought through every challenge together — a testament to their strong team culture. Senior Class Impact Although not large in number, the seniors provided important leadership and rebounding support, helping to anchor the team during critical stretches. Looking Ahead The future is incredibly bright for Gregori Basketball. Returning next season are the team's three top juniors, two sophomores, and three freshmen — a talented, close-knit group that thrives on being pushed and challenged. With a strong bond and a hunger to compete, the girls are eager to tackle the toughest preseason schedule in program history. Offseason Focus This offseason, the team will focus on sharpening fundamental skills: dribbling, shooting, footwork, agility, and enhancing basketball IQ — all to build an even stronger, smarter squad for next year.
