Despite a year of major roster turnover and adversity, the Harpeth High School Girls Basketball team, led by Head Coach Katie Pacifici, showcased perseverance, leadership, and promise for the future. After graduating seven seniors who logged significant minutes, the team leaned on new faces and rising underclassmen to carry the program forward. Senior Leadership and Standout Performers Senior Aryn Murphree led the team in scoring and was a steady presence throughout the season, providing both offensive production and on-court leadership. Coach Pacifici praised the senior class for their all-around contributions: "They brought it all for us — leadership, energy, performance — both on and off the court. I truly couldn’t ask for a better group of ladies." Next Generation Steps Up Several underclassmen stepped up into bigger roles as the season progressed: Sophomore Ella Pomeroy took on the point guard responsibilities with maturity and poise. Freshman Jayln Murphree provided crucial minutes, showing she’s ready for the varsity stage. Lilly Stinson consistently came off the bench to battle for big rebounds and provided hustle on both ends of the floor. Adversity and Resilience The season ended on a tough note with a key injury — the loss of Pomeroy to a concussion right before district and regional play — but the team never stopped battling. "We fought every minute on the court," said Coach Pacifici. "Even when the scoreboard didn’t reflect it, the effort and heart were always there." Looking Ahead With a youthful roster returning, Coach Pacifici is excited about the direction of the program. "We’ve got a great group of young athletes to mold and develop — the potential is high." Offseason Goals The focus heading into the offseason will be on fundamentals — specifically ball handling and shooting — areas where growth will elevate the team to the next level in the coming seasons.
