As Harvest Christian Academy's Boys Soccer program heads into the offseason, the team finds itself in a season of transition—but also one filled with opportunity. Following the graduation of several key seniors, including team captain Mateo Constante, goalkeeper Owen Langfeld, and forward Andrew Dagamac, Head Coach Pedro Assumpcao is focused on the future and what comes next for the Lions. Offseason Focus: Rebuilding with Purpose With the school’s smaller size and a large graduating class, the primary focus this offseason is on recruiting new players to help re-establish depth and maintain the competitive spirit the program is known for. The challenge is real, but the coaching staff is determined to bring in young talent and build from the ground up. Emerging Talent: Players to Watch Despite the roster shake-up, there’s no shortage of talent on the field. Two names to watch are Lucas Menezes and Oliver Beckett—versatile and dynamic midfielders who are expected to take on greater roles this year. Their technical ability and attacking instincts will be crucial as the team finds its new identity. Biggest Challenge: Building the Roster Perhaps the biggest hurdle for Coach Assumpcao and his team is simply numbers. “Our first challenge is being able to have a sizable roster that would allow the formation of a good team,” he noted. It’s a situation many small schools can relate to, and the program is working hard to not only find players but to ensure they’re ready for the demands of varsity soccer. Looking Ahead While no offseason tournaments or camps are currently planned, the focus remains clear: recruit, train, and compete. Coach Assumpcao is laying the groundwork for a new chapter in HCA soccer, and with the right pieces in place, the Lions are poised for a promising rebuild.
