Under the leadership of Head Coach Ian Guevara, the Harvest Preparatory Academy football program is undergoing an important transformation. With a young roster and a focus on speed and agility, the Warriors are setting the foundation for long-term success in the 2025 season. Offseason Focus: Speed, Agility, and Quickness The coaching staff is prioritizing footwork and agility training to develop faster, more dynamic athletes. Strength and conditioning remain crucial, even as the weight room undergoes remodeling. Team Bonding: “Hell Week” and Building Camaraderie A week-long intensive training camp will be held for players, featuring workouts, practices, and team-building activities (location and date TBA). Roster Overhaul: A New Wave of Talent The team faces a major transition, with 9 out of 19 players graduating. Incoming transfers, freshmen, and eager 8th graders will step up to fill key roles. Player to Watch: Angel Lorona A rising senior, Angel played football for the first time last season and has quickly become a leader on and off the field. His commitment to offseason training signals a breakout season ahead. Strength & Conditioning: Overcoming Challenges Coach Allen Heck is leading the strength program, finding creative ways to maintain offseason training despite facility renovations. His experience and innovative approach are keeping players prepared and engaged. Coaching Development: Always Evolving The coaching staff is attending clinics and networking with other coaches to refine their offensive and defensive strategies. Aiming to add new styles and versatility, the team will adapt to maximize their young roster’s strengths. Community Engagement: A Team Beyond the Field Multi-sport athletes and club members make up much of the team, ensuring deep involvement in school and city activities. Players volunteer their time for the weight room remodel and local events, strengthening ties with the community. Biggest Challenge: A Young Team with Big Potential With a roster filled with freshmen and sophomores, the team’s biggest hurdle will be adjusting to the high school level. However, the strong work ethic and hunger to improve suggest that this transition could happen quicker than expected. 2025 Season Outlook The Harvest Preparatory Academy Warriors are entering a new era, blending youth, speed, and determination to take on the challenges ahead. While this may be a development year, the coaching staff’s adaptability, the leadership of key players, and a strong commitment to training could lead to surprising success in the upcoming season.
