This season, Indian Hill High School's basketball team is looking to once again make a statement in the Cincinnati Hills League (CHL). With a strong core of returning players and some new additions, the Braves are ready to take on any challenge and make their mark in the Ohio high school basketball scene. Coach Ricardo Hill, now in his 7th year with the program, has high hopes for this year's team. When asked about the top returning players from last season, he is quick to mention the versatile 6'6" junior, Will Bennett. Bennett is an all-around player who can shoot outside as well as score in the paint. Another key player for the Braves this year will be senior Cam Miller, the only senior on the team. Coach Hill stresses the importance of Miller's leadership and how it will be vital to the overall development of the young team. But Coach Hill's focus is not just on individual players, but on the team as a whole. He believes in building a strong team chemistry and camaraderie, which is essential for success on the court. When asked about the qualities he looks for in potential team captains, Coach Hill mentions players who show positive attitudes and give constructive feedback to their teammates, even when coaches are not around. Cam Miller, with his leadership skills, has already taken on this role for the Braves. To push his players to their full potential, Coach Hill creates a competitive atmosphere in practice and puts his players in adverse conditions to help them mature and become mentally tougher. This season, the biggest challenge for the Braves has been dealing with several injuries that have set them back. But Coach Hill is determined to have his team ready to face any opponent. Speaking of opponents, Indian Hill's schedule is filled with tough teams, both in their conference and non-conference play. Coach Hill takes pride in the competitive nature of the CHL and is excited to face bigger schools with a successful history. The team will also be playing three games in Florida, as well as facing off against some of the top teams in Ohio. One of the key components of Coach Hill's coaching philosophy is to stay connected to the players, both on and off the court. He believes that this allows him to connect with them better and help them reach their full potential. This year, he has also implemented a strong strength and conditioning program to ensure that his players are physically ready to compete at a high level.
