Season Overview This year marked a clear turning point for Joshua Boys Basketball. While not without its challenges, the 2024–25 season was a resounding success, as we doubled our win total from the previous year. More importantly, we laid the foundation for a new standard—building culture, trust, and a competitive mindset that will serve the program for years to come. Key Contributors Silas Smith was our standout player, leading the team in scoring and earning First Team All-District honors. His ability to create offense in key moments gave us confidence and consistency throughout the season. Silas was the go-to guy whenever we needed a critical bucket, and his presence alone changed how teams had to defend us. Michael Gerhardt grew tremendously throughout the season. Though he started with a solid role, his development over time was impressive—he hit big shots in clutch moments and became a dependable scoring option and playmaker down the stretch. Player Development Michael Gerhardt's progression is a prime example of how our players embraced growth. He increased his offensive efficiency and rose to the occasion in pressure situations, becoming a trusted contributor. That kind of development is what fuels long-term success. Senior Class Contributions Our seniors deserve immense credit. Transitioning to a new coach and a new system can be difficult, but this group bought in wholeheartedly. Their willingness to lead, adapt, and set the tone laid the groundwork for a brighter future. They’ve helped establish a culture built on accountability, hard work, and pride in representing Joshua High School. Looking Ahead The future is bright. We have a core group of young, hungry players who are fully bought into our system and vision. With a full year under their belts and continued growth on the horizon, we’re poised to take another step forward next season. These guys are eager to improve and ready to carry the torch. Offseason Focus This offseason, our emphasis will be on skill development, specifically ball handling and decision-making. If we can reduce turnovers and sharpen our offensive execution, we’ll be ready to compete with anyone. The effort, toughness, and team chemistry are already there.
