As the Laurel School Girls Tennis team gears up for the upcoming season, new leadership and focused development are setting the tone for a strong year ahead. Offseason Focus Under the direction of new Head Coach David Cole, the team has emphasized consistent offseason play. Athletes have been encouraged to stay active through lessons and clinics, with a special focus on improving doubles strategy and teamwork—two critical areas that could make a big difference this season. Special Offseason Events One of the most exciting offseason highlights is a planned team trip to Cincinnati in August. The trip includes match play against several local schools, a visit to the Cincinnati Open to watch the pros in action, and a team bonding day at Kings Island. The experience is designed to strengthen both the team's competitive edge and chemistry off the court. New Faces & Program Changes The biggest offseason change is the addition of Coach David Cole as the new Varsity Head Coach. His approach focuses on skill development, match experience, and building a cohesive team culture. Players to Watch Rida Azhar, a returning state qualifier, is expected to be a cornerstone of the lineup this fall. Her experience and leadership will be key. Sophia Nguyen-Huynh, a standout incoming freshman and competitive tournament player, is poised to make an immediate impact. Coaching Strategy Coach Cole and his staff are committed to increasing offseason opportunities while placing greater emphasis on team chemistry. The goal is to blend individual improvement with a strong, unified team dynamic. Looking Ahead With a talented mix of returning players and rising stars, Laurel School Girls Tennis is on track for an exciting season. The offseason has been about more than just preparation—it's been about building a culture of accountability, camaraderie, and competition.
