With momentum and motivation on their side, the Liberty Lions are embracing the grind this offseason, focused on continuing to grow a player-led culture that emphasizes leadership, unity, and accountability. Head Coach Colin Thomas is excited about the progress being made on the field, in the weight room, and most importantly, within the team itself. Offseason Focus: Brotherhood & Leadership Coach Thomas says the team’s offseason mission is simple but powerful: “We are excited to keep improving our brotherhood and leadership to be a player-led team.” The emphasis isn’t just on wins—it’s on creating a locker room full of leaders who can set the tone for effort, attitude, and team-first values. Summer Camps & Competitions The Lions have a busy summer ahead. They’ll be attending four 7-on-7 tournaments and Big Man Challenges, allowing both skill players and linemen to test themselves in competitive environments. A major highlight of the summer will be Team Camp at Camp Tontozona, a trip that always brings out the best in team bonding and growth. Players to Watch: Core Leaders Return Liberty returns a core group of talented and driven athletes. Keep your eyes on: Hudson Dunn Angel Thues Paz St. John Tyler Burnstein Kam Segall Braxton Huynh These players not only bring skill and experience, but also the leadership that sets the standard for the rest of the locker room. Coaching Vision: Staying Focused on the Process Coach Thomas and his staff are staying grounded in their approach, focusing on the blueprint that has brought success: “We are focused on becoming the best version of us and following our plan to get us there.” That means refining technique, elevating leadership, and making sure every detail is dialed in for when the lights come on in the fall. Community Impact: Giving Back Early The Lions are already making a difference in the community by running youth camps each week, with players actively involved in mentoring the next generation of athletes. It’s a win-win—building leadership in current players while inspiring future ones. Looking Ahead: Creating Their Legacy The biggest challenge ahead? Living up to the high standard Liberty Football has set—and then raising it. “This team’s challenge is to create their legacy.” With buy-in from the players and a coaching staff dedicated to development on and off the field, the Lions are in a strong position to do just that.
