We appreciate all the support from our fans and community. We're working hard to represent Lyons High School in the best way possible and hope to make you proud this season. Lyons High School's Cross Country team is gearing up for another exciting season, and Coach Dan Reazin has high hopes for his runners. As the team's coach for the past five years, Reazin has a strong understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of his team, and he is determined to help them reach their full potential this season.
The overall goals for the team this season are simple yet challenging. Reazin wants the team to continue to learn how to work together to improve and decrease their race times. This is a goal that will require teamwork, communication, and dedication from each member of the team. As Reazin put it, "We succeed as a team, not as individuals." This emphasis on unity and camaraderie will be key to the team's success this season.
One of the team's strengths this year is the return of some top-performing runners from last season. Jojo Vargas, Mariana Boese, and Alison Solis all have experience in the varsity team and bring both skill and leadership to the team. Jojo, a senior, has come close to qualifying for the state before, and Coach Reazin expects her to have another impressive season.
Mariana, also a senior, is a natural-born leader and an essential asset to the team. Alli, a sophomore, has shown significant improvement over the summer, and her coach is confident that her times will only get better. On the men's side, the entire varsity team is returning, including Cain Villasenor, Paco Espinoza, Anthony Ventura, Gilberto Silva, Ricardo Tapia, Edgard Morales, and Jaidon Allen.
These runners have built a strong bond while running together in the past, and they are determined to push each other to reach new heights this season. Reazin also welcomes a new addition to the team, a talented transfer student with experience running at the state level. This addition will only strengthen the team and provide healthy competition within the group. In addition to the returning runners, there are also a few promising new players that Coach Reazin is excited about. He has a couple of talented freshmen who either moved up from the middle school program or are running for the first time.
