Maywood Academy High School Boys Basketball Season Preview

As the new basketball season approaches, excitement and anticipation fill the air at Maywood Academy High School. Under the leadership of Coach Anthony Castro, the team is determined to make a big run this season and achieve success. With a heavy senior team, they plan to take it one game at a time and rely on their top returning players, new additions, and strong team chemistry to achieve their goal. In his eyes, everyone on the team has the potential to be a leader and he does not label any one player as the captain. The team has been participating in off-season games and tournaments and has bonded through their shared experiences. As the season progresses, they plan on continuing to build their chemistry and camaraderie through team-building activities and a strong emphasis on teamwork. Coach Castro believes in motivating his players by exposing them to outside influences and experiences. This could be bringing in a guest speaker such as a college coach or a former/current player to share their stories and inspire the team.
