The 2024-25 season for Montgomery Central’s girls wrestling team was a rollercoaster of triumphs, challenges, and tremendous growth. While team goals such as qualifying for the state duals went unmet due to untimely injuries, our wrestlers showcased heart, talent, and resilience all season long.
Key Contributors and Standout Performances
We were led by some incredible athletes. Audrey Levendusky, a two-time state champion entering the season, set the standard in our room, demonstrating daily what it takes to be a champion. Even after sustaining a major wrist sprain in January, Audrey returned at just 80% to win the sectional tournament and ultimately finish as state runner-up. Her grit was nothing short of inspirational.
Jocelyn Kolozsy brought leadership and toughness to the team, finishing third in the state after wrestling back from a tough early loss. Her perseverance on and off the mat was a shining example for younger athletes.
Easton Dadiomoff, a freshman standout, capped off her impressive debut season by becoming the 2025 Tennessee State Champion at 100 pounds. Her energy and encouragement were contagious and served as motivation to the rest of the squad.
Another key contributor, Audra Buckley, qualified for the state tournament and fought hard, going 2-2 in her bracket.
Defining Moments
Several moments defined our season. Audrey’s comeback from injury was a powerful storyline, but perhaps the most emotional high came at the Sectional Duals Tournament. After falling to rival Northwest in the opening round, we faced a Rossview team that had previously beaten us. The dual came down to a final match, and freshman first-year wrestler Leah Minor pulled off a stunning pin over a seasoned opponent to clinch a 36-33 victory—a true breakthrough for our team.
Senior Leadership and Culture
We’re graduating three seniors this year, including two captains who have played major roles in shaping the culture of our team. Their leadership, consistency, and buy-in to our program's values have left a lasting impact. They’ve helped foster a community-first mentality that will carry on in seasons to come.
Looking Ahead
Though we’re losing some big contributors, the future is bright. We have a balanced core of returning veterans and eager newcomers, and the wrestlers are fully committed to the culture we’re building. I’m proud of our coaching staff and excited about the direction we're headed.
Offseason Focus
In the offseason, our goals are to refine technique, increase strength, and—as Coach Joe Dadiomoff likes to say—“build our gas tank” for those long, grueling matches. We’re also continuing to grow the sport through our youth and middle school feeder programs, now entering their third year.
