Kennesaw, GA — The Mount Paran Christian School girls basketball team upheld its tradition of excellence during the 2024-25 season, reaching the Elite 8 in Georgia’s state playoffs following three consecutive state championships. Led by a seasoned group of seven seniors and key underclassman contributors, the Lady Eagles once again proved to be one of the state’s top programs. Top Contributors Shine Bright Jessica Fields – Dominant power forward who averaged a double-double. Known for her rim protection and versatile defense. Jacalyn Myrthil – A Dynamic scoring guard who thrived in transition and beyond the arc. Reached her 1,000th career point this season. Kitali Youmans – Floor general who controlled the offense, locked down top opponents defensively, and hit career milestones of 500 assists and 400 steals. McKinley Brothers – Breakout performer and first-year starter who made major impacts with defense, drives, and three-point shooting. Isabella Ramirez – Skilled mid-range and three-point shooter whose leadership and scoring were missed after an unfortunate midseason injury. Season Highlights Despite losing Ramirez midway through the year, the team continued to perform at a high level. A December road stretch saw the Lady Eagles defeat two top-ranked teams from out of state, solidifying their elite status in Georgia. The season was also a testament to the strength of the program's culture and leadership. Senior Class Legacy With seven seniors, most of whom had been with the team for four to five years, Mount Paran benefited from a strong core that embodied the team’s culture of discipline, selflessness, and winning. Five of the seniors received college scholarship offers, a testament to their work ethic and performance on the court. Future Outlook Coach Dunn is enthusiastic about the younger players stepping up. While next year’s squad will be youthful, she emphasized their coachability and desire to improve, noting that the summer offseason will be dedicated to development in all areas.
