The Mount Tabor Spartans are putting in serious work this offseason with a clear mission: become bigger, faster, and stronger. Under the leadership of Head Coach Tiesuan Brown, the program is building physical dominance while preparing a young but promising roster to make noise this upcoming season. Offseason Focus: Strength, Speed & Growth Mount Tabor’s offseason mantra is simple but powerful. “We’re focused on getting bigger, faster, and stronger,” Coach Brown shared. That commitment is evident in the energy inside the weight room and the effort players are putting in across the board. Summer Team Camp at UNC Pembroke To strengthen team chemistry and elevate skill development, the Spartans will attend a team camp at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke this summer. The camp will be a valuable opportunity to fine-tune the team’s on-field communication and execution ahead of the season. Players to Watch in 2025 Mount Tabor boasts a talented core of returners and rising stars who are expected to play key roles: Jayden Muhfooth Smit – A dynamic two-way athlete at WR and FS, and one of the team’s top returning talents. Jamarius Hunder – Rushed for over 500 yards as a sophomore and stepped in as the feature running back. Kingston Brown – The new varsity quarterback as a sophomore with strong upside. Leo Phillips & Nyle Glenn – Anchors of a veteran offensive line that will lead the way up front. Jalen Davis – A returning defensive back drawing significant college interest. Tryaton Thacker – A rising leader on a young but skilled defensive line. Weight Room Progress & Culture The Spartans are making major strides in the weight room. “We’ve had a great offseason,” Brown said. “Guys are putting in the work, getting faster, stronger, and more physical.” The team’s commitment to fitness is setting the tone for what they hope will be a breakout year. Coaching Development & Strategy The coaching staff continues to evolve and improve each season. “We’re always learning—attending clinics, meeting with college staff, and adjusting our schemes to better suit our players,” said Brown. The focus is on innovation and continual growth, both for the staff and the athletes. Giving Back: Community Matters Mount Tabor football isn’t just building a team—they’re building leaders. The program has stayed engaged with the community this offseason through campus clean-ups, food drives, and fundraising efforts, reinforcing values of service and accountability. Challenges Ahead: Youth & the Road This season won’t be without its challenges. “We’re young, and we have six away games this year,” Brown noted. But with strong leadership, dedication in the weight room, and a united team culture, the Spartans are ready to rise to the occasion. Mount Tabor Football is gearing up with heart, hustle, and high expectations. The season ahead may test them, but they’re building a team built to last.
