New Mexico School for the Deaf Volleyball: Young Team, Big Goals for 2025 Offseason Focus: Multi-Sport Conditioning & Skill Growth Head Coach Dominic Harrison has emphasized well-rounded athletic development this offseason. With a focus on maintaining fitness and conditioning, many players have joined other sports to stay in top shape for the upcoming fall volleyball season. “Our team’s main focus has been staying active and improving through other athletic sports,” said Coach Harrison. Notable Departures: Senior Leadership Will Be Missed The team is preparing for the upcoming graduation of Angelique Quinonez and Serenity Adams, two impactful players who leave big shoes to fill. With their departure, the spotlight shifts to a younger roster eager to step up and make their mark. Players to Watch: Returners Ready to Rise Sirrah Wilding, Kimora Vollmar, and Neeva Goff have been training through club volleyball in Santa Fe, showing serious commitment to skill development. Kimora has focused on sharpening her attacks as an outside hitter. Neeva is working on becoming a stronger dual threat with setting and attacking. Sirrah has been strengthening her defense and setting skills. Lacey Gilpin is gaining confidence as a middle hitter and has become more assertive at the net. Her consistency in serving and improvement in defense are raising expectations for a standout season. Coaching Perspective: Camps & Fitness Encouraged Coach Harrison has taken a supportive approach, encouraging players to attend volleyball camps and maintain physical fitness during the offseason. “I’ve been pushing our girls to stay in shape and seek opportunities to improve,” he shared. This proactive mindset is expected to pay off come fall. Biggest Challenge Ahead: Redefining the Rotation Without the leadership and production of graduating seniors, the team will need to adjust its rotations and dynamics. But the coaching staff is excited by the challenge and eager to see how returning players rise to the occasion.
