As the 2025 football season approaches, New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva (NRHEG) High School is focusing on strength, speed, and multi-sport development to build a competitive and well-rounded team. Head Coach Marc Kruger and his staff are preparing for a season filled with new challenges, emerging talent, and exciting opportunities. Offseason Focus & Training NRHEG places a strong emphasis on multi-sport participation, encouraging athletes to stay active and competitive year-round. Additionally, the team has committed to a rigorous strength and speed training program in the weight room to improve overall athletic performance. Summer Camps & Team Development The Panthers will once again compete in the 7-on-7 league at Minnesota State Mankato, sharpening their passing game and defensive skills. The team will also attend a summer camp in Mankato, providing an opportunity for players to develop chemistry and refine their techniques before the season begins. Coaching Staff & Key Roster Updates A significant coaching change sees Dan Bell stepping into the role of Defensive Coordinator after two seasons as a position coach. As always, the roster will undergo major shifts following the graduation of key players, requiring underclassmen to step up and fill key roles. Players to Watch The Panthers’ offense will be led by returning backfield standouts Ryan Schlaak and Sean Lassahn, who are expected to have a major impact in the running game. Jordan Brouwers will be a key force on defense as an edge rusher. Meanwhile, Fynn Baumann, Jack Bartlett, and Brooks Gilliland have had impressive offseasons and could play vital roles in the team’s success. Coaching Preparation & Strategy The coaching staff has been active in the offseason, attending multiple clinics, including the Glazier Clinic in Minneapolis, the MFCA Coaches Clinic, and a special session at Minnesota State Mankato. These learning opportunities have helped the team implement new strategies and fresh ideas for the upcoming season. Biggest Challenges Ahead NRHEG’s biggest test will be adjusting to a new schedule, as the state high school league updates sections and districts every two years. The Panthers expect to face both familiar rivals and new opponents, making adaptability crucial for success. With a strong training program, rising talent, and dedicated coaching staff, NRHEG football is set to tackle the 2025 season with confidence and determination. Stay tuned for what promises to be an exciting year for Panthers football!
