Paramount High School Softball 2024 Season Preview (CA)

It's officially the start of another high school baseball season and all eyes are on the Paramount High School team. After finishing in the middle of the pack last year, Coach Rocky Colenzo and his team are determined to make a strong comeback this year. With a mix of experienced players and talented newcomers, the team is feeling confident and ready to give it their all on the diamond. We had the opportunity to sit down with Coach Colenzo and get an inside look at what we can expect from Paramount High School's baseball team this year. Q: What is your main goal for the team this year? A: Our main goal is to finish better than we did last year. We want to improve as a team and make a deeper run into the playoffs. Q: Who are some standout players on the team? A: One player to watch out for is Jazmin Mchenry. She is an outstanding defender and a left-handed batter with a lot of power. We're also excited about freshman Leah Magana who is a strong utility player and has a lot of potential. Q: How does the team bond together? A: We do a lot of team building activities outside of school, such as team dinners and community service projects. It's important for our players to develop a strong bond on and off the field. Q: Are there any specific teams or players from other schools that you have your eye on this year? A: I love reading newspaper articles about other schools in our conference who are getting headlines. It gives us a good indication of the competition we'll be up against. Q: How has the weather affected your team's preparation for the season? A: This year, we have been getting a lot of rain which has limited our practice time. But our team has been adaptable and we've made the most of our indoor practice facilities. Q: How do you plan your preseason schedule? A: I always plan a tough preseason schedule to challenge our team and help us improve. We want to face tough opponents early on to prepare us for the regular season. Q: How do you think your team's focus will be this year? A: Our #1 focus is to work hard and improve as a team. We want to have a strong work ethic and push ourselves to be the best we can be.
