After a state championship victory, Powdersville Volleyball enters the 2025 season with a determined mindset. The team is ready to defend its title while focusing on the future. Coach Brooke Passini and her staff are committed to improving each player and continuing the tradition of excellence that has made Powdersville a dominant force in South Carolina volleyball. Offseason Focus Following a thrilling state championship win, Powdersville’s focus this offseason is on staying grounded and ready for the next challenge. Coach Passini emphasizes the need for balance: "We want to enjoy the success of last season, but it’s important to remember that each year brings a new team and new goals. Nothing will be handed to us." Special Offseason Events The team will attend the CofC Team Camp in July, a key event for both player development and team bonding. This camp will help the players sharpen their skills, build team chemistry, and prepare for another successful season. Notable Additions & Departures This year, Powdersville will be without two key players who graduated: Ana Reca and Emma Kate Latham. Ana was All-State and the Region Player of the Year, leaving big shoes to fill. However, with a solid core of returning players, the team is poised for continued success. Players to Watch Returning All-Region players are ready to take the team to the next level: Peyton Carman Alyssa Whiteside Gracie McCall These three players have been working tirelessly in the offseason, competing in AAU to elevate their skills. As they head into team conditioning and workouts in April, they are expected to play pivotal roles in the team’s success. Weight Training & Fitness Offseason conditioning is focused on improving stamina and injury prevention. Powdersville’s athletes are committed to maintaining their peak physical condition as they prepare for the demanding season ahead. Coaching Philosophy Coach Passini and Assistant Coach Samantha Bailey have been working together for seven years and consistently strive to innovate while maintaining the high standards they've set for the team. “We always come into each season with fresh drills and ideas, but our focus remains on excellence and hard work,” says Coach Passini. Fan Engagement & Community Impact Powdersville’s volleyball program has strong community support, which is integral to its success. The team hosts a youth camp every June, giving the athletes a chance to connect with younger players and inspire the next generation. This event fosters a deep sense of community pride and helps grow the sport locally. Biggest Challenges Ahead The team’s biggest challenge will be maintaining its championship-level play and filling the void left by key departures. "We know we’ll face more scrutiny this year," Coach Passini admits. "But we’re focused on keeping the same intensity and commitment that brought us success last season."
