Fri, April 4, 2025 at 07:04 AM . Michigan
Under the leadership of Varsity Coach Kaisha Martin, the Ross Beatty Volleyball Team is preparing for an exciting and competitive 2025 season. With a strong returning core and a renewed focus on fundamentals, fitness, and game strategy, the team is ready to make a serious push for a conference title. Offseason Focus: Staying in Shape and Elevating Intensity Maintaining Conditioning – Many players are multi-sport athletes, which helps keep them in shape. Building Stamina and Intensity – These are key areas of focus to ensure the team can maintain high energy levels throughout matches. Coach Martin emphasizes that volleyball fundamentals can be learned from all sports, and she sees this as an advantage for her athletes. Camps and Training Plans The team is exploring summer camp options that provide the best value while focusing on both hitting and passing fundamentals. Goal – Find a camp that balances offense and defense, addressing passing improvements while enhancing attacking skills. Roster Updates and Team Strengths Minimal Roster Turnover – Only two starters were lost from last season. Deep, Balanced Squad – The team does not rely on just one star player. Every member contributes to success. Coach Martin: One person does not win a game of volleyball, a team does, and I think we show that every game we have. With a well-rounded group, Ross Beatty will continue its team-first approach, making it a dangerous opponent in 2025. Coaching Philosophy: Back to Fundamentals and More Game Play For the upcoming season, Coach Martin is implementing: Stronger Focus on Fundamentals and Technique Increased In-Game Situations – More scrimmages and live gameplay to simulate real match conditions This approach was highly effective last year, and Coach Martin aims to build on that success. Biggest Challenge: Conference Title Pressure Ross Beatty is the only team in their conference that is not losing a large group of seniors, making them a top contender for the championship. Challenge – Handling the pressure of being the team to beat Opponents' Mindset – Other teams fear Ross Beatty’s depth and experience The expectations are high, but with a seasoned roster, improved stamina, and a strategic training approach, the team is ready to embrace the challenge. 2025 Season Outlook: Conference Championship or Bust Ross Beatty enters the 2025 season as a strong contender with: A deep, balanced team A strategic approach to training A renewed focus on stamina and intensity With high expectations and a target on their backs, the team is ready to prove they are championship material. Stay tuned for a big season from Ross Beatty Volleyball
