Season Overview The team improved tremendously this season, jumping from 10th to 3rd place in the City Conference standings. It was a year marked by hard work, resilience, and significant program development. Senior Leadership The senior class played a vital role in the program's success. Madelyn Bayona, a four-year veteran, was a cornerstone of the team and a driving force in the growth of women's wrestling in San Diego. On the boys' side, Jayden Ponce brought energy, leadership, and an unselfish attitude, helping the team in every way possible. Looking Ahead San Diego High is excited about a strong core of returning talent. The rising junior class — led by Lucas Shabazz, Dmitry Brooke, and Keyona Mae Simmons — promises continued success, with Simmons bringing back valuable state tournament experience.
