Southeast Bulloch Flag Football Eyes Fifth Straight Title Run With one of the most dominant runs in Georgia high school flag football history, Southeast Bulloch High School enters the 2025 season looking to extend its dynasty—and they're putting in the work to make it happen. Offseason Focus: Speed and Offensive Precision This offseason, the Yellow Jackets have zeroed in on two key priorities: improving offensive execution and increasing team speed. After years of success, the coaching staff is determined to keep the program sharp by evolving with new schemes and faster-paced execution on both sides of the ball. Summer Schedule: Elite Competition and Team Bonding The team is embracing a high-level offseason competition schedule to stay battle-tested and build chemistry. They’ll attend three major events: Summer Sizzler (June 1-2) – Savannah, GA Unrivaled Flag’s Inaugural Girls Nationals (June 14-15) – Canton, OH Jags Flag Football Invitational (June 28) – Jacksonville, FL These tournaments provide invaluable experience against top-tier programs from across the country. Roster Movement: Big Shoes to Fill, But Depth Returns Southeast Bulloch will miss the leadership and production of graduating seniors Jaci Kitchings and Jadyn Williams, as well as the departure of assistant coaches Paula Kitchings and Jenni Youmans. But with six returning starters on offense and five on defense, the team retains a strong foundation. New assistant coaches Ginnie Sherrod and Faith Musselwhite bring fresh energy and ideas to the staff. Players to Watch: A Mix of Veterans and Rising Talent Key returners to watch include: Emma Cate Barron (QB): A poised leader with command of the offense. Natalia Odom (WR/CB): The GA Division 1 Player of the Year, a game-changer on both sides. Kayla Adams, Hali Long, and Liana Erickson (WRs/CBs): All provide speed, big-play ability, and athleticism. Chloe Cochran (Center): Anchors the offensive line. Kelsey Johnson & Kristiana Tisby (Defense): Two-year starters expected to lead a stingy defense. Paige Nelson (Upback/DB): The team’s "X-factor"—trusted to make fast reads and explosive plays. Keep an eye on Halleigh Morton, a promising sophomore ready to contribute on both sides of the ball. Coaching Strategy: Adapting for the Next Step With a retooled offensive strategy in the works and insight gained from collaborations with other programs, Coach Cochran and her new staff are working to make the offense more assertive and unpredictable. Flexibility and innovation will be key as the program continues to evolve. Community Connection: Grassroots Support Support from the Southeast Bulloch community remains strong. Offseason fundraisers—including local store appearances and car washes—have helped the team raise funds and maintain visibility. The program continues to be a source of pride in the community. Biggest Challenge: The Weight of Greatness The biggest opponent might not be on the field—it’s the pressure of expectations. With four straight state titles and just one loss in program history, the Yellow Jackets carry the burden of legacy. Another major challenge is multi-sport athlete scheduling conflicts, as some players split time with other fall sports, which can limit practice consistency. The 2025 season promises to test Southeast Bulloch’s resolve, depth, and adaptability. But with a stacked roster, elite talent, and a hungry coaching staff, history might be calling once again.
