The 2024–25 season was nothing short of historic for St. Cloud High School Boys Basketball. Under the leadership of Head Coach Tommy Billiteri, the Bulldogs shattered school records, made their deepest playoff run to date, and laid the groundwork for what looks like a bright future. Season Recap: Best in School History St. Cloud finished with an incredible 24-5 record, the most wins in a single season in program history. The Bulldogs also notched their first-ever regional playoff win, advancing to the regional semifinals. “I think we had a great season,” said Coach Billiteri. “We had a couple of games that we came up just one shot short on, but overall it was a successful year.” Balanced Leadership Across All Classes This success came thanks to a balanced roster of seniors, juniors, and even sophomores. Senior leaders Josiah Cotto and Alex Springs were instrumental, helping set the tone both on and off the court. A talented group of juniors — Malaki Baker, Ryan Rodriguez, Samuel Perez, Diomar Ortiz, and Elias Torres — also played key roles, stepping up and evolving throughout the season. Their growth is fueling optimism heading into next year. Defining Moments and Resilience The team started strong, going undefeated for the first month of the season, thanks in large part to the work they put in during the offseason. One of the most defining moments came after a narrow district championship loss — a gut-wrenching three-point defeat — when they bounced back to defeat a tough Olympia squad in the regional playoffs. “We didn’t lose two games in a row all season,” Billiteri said. “We always bounced back.” Legacy of the Seniors The senior class helped ignite a transformation at St. Cloud — one from years of losing seasons to being considered among the best programs in the state. Their biggest gift? Instilling belief. “They gave this team legitimate confidence that we could beat anyone,” said Billiteri. “And that confidence will live on.” Future Outlook: More History to Be Made With the entire junior core returning, excitement around St. Cloud basketball is peaking. Many of the rising seniors have been varsity players for three to four years and have been instrumental in building a winning culture. “My level of excitement for this upcoming season is at an all-time high,” Billiteri shared. “This senior class of 2026 is the face of the St. Cloud turnaround.” Offseason Goals and Stats The Bulldogs are now focused on building strength, improving shooting, and sharpening execution to take their game to the next level.
