St. Lawrence Central Girls Soccer – 2025 Offseason Report  Offseason Focus This offseason, our focus has been on improving individual strength across the team. Developing personal fitness and resilience is a key step in helping players perform at their best and step into larger roles as needed. Special Offseason Events Several of our athletes are working hard outside of the season to grow their game. A few attended ID clinics with aspirations of playing soccer at the collegiate level. In addition, the majority of the team will compete in summer soccer, keeping their skills sharp and fostering chemistry before preseason begins.  Notable Additions & Departures We will need to replace Courtney Moreau, our leading goal scorer and the league MVP—a major presence on the field. Her departure leaves big shoes to fill, but we’re confident our returning players are ready to step up.  Players to Watch We have a strong core of returners ready to shine: AJ Sweet (Junior) and Mary-Cate Dow (Senior) are expected to have breakout seasons with increased leadership roles. Giada Rufa (Junior) will see more minutes this year, and we’re excited to see her impact grow. Defensively, Jaelei Brothers (Senior) and Avery Marcil (Junior) return as our dependable “brick wall” in the back line. In goal, Leah Perry (Junior) enters her second year with growing confidence and leadership—critical qualities for our success.  Weight Lifting and Fitness Offseason strength training is a priority, complemented by team-building sessions in the pool during preseason. These activities help enhance physical development and team unity. Coaching Perspective We’re preparing to be tactically flexible this season, adapting formations based on our opponents. This strategic approach will allow us to play to our strengths while challenging our players to grow their game understanding.  Biggest Challenges Ahead Despite only losing two seniors, including a league MVP, we face the ongoing challenge of daily improvement. With a solid group returning, our sights are set high—we’re looking to return to the sectional championship and make another deep run this season.
